Bailey Builds
Temperance Mosaic Class - Kickernick Building - September 27th
Temperance Mosaic Class - Kickernick Building - September 27th
Trade the ordinary for an evening of bold lines, wood grain, and the satisfying click of pieces falling into place.
In this class, you’ll create Temperance—a limited-edition wood mosaic featuring a dramatic Art Deco-inspired mountainscape. It’s modern yet timeless, geometric yet organic—a design that feels like something you’d see in a gallery, but you’ll make it with your own two hands.
Your guide, Kelsey Anderson, will walk you through every step: painting, staining, and assembling the pieces into your very own masterpiece. No experience required—just a little curiosity (and maybe a willingness to get a speck of glue on your fingers).
You’ll leave with:
A finished Temperance wood mosaic 23" x 8.5"
An introduction to the art of wood mosaic making.
A piece of art that’s every bit as one-of-a-kind as you are.
The Kickernick Building’s historic walls have seen a lot—but they haven’t seen you making something like this yet.
👉 Reserve your spot now. Seats are limited, and this design won’t be back once the season changes.
September 27th from 2pm - 4:30pm at the Kickernick Building
(Registration ends September 17th)

Explore the newest creative hub on First Ave in downtown Minneapolis! The newly renovated Kickernick Building is home to the beautiful Kickernick Gallery and an array of new artist studios. Painter and muralist, Kelsey Anderson, welcomes you to a fun evening of creating unique mosaics in her authentic working art studio with beautiful views of downtown.
Kelsey is a Bailey Builds collector herself, and is thrilled to combine her love for these mosaics, painting, and teaching. She holds a B.A. in fine art and has been painting for more than 25 years. She’s taught private art classes for youth and adults for many years and loves sharing composition tips, painting techniques and encouraging creativity at any skill level. With the carefully crafted building blocks from Bailey Builds, and some artistic inspiration you will walk away with a beautiful mosaic only YOU could dream up and create.
(A note from Kelsey: The building and gallery doors are locked after business hours, so I will meet you at the main door on First Ave. Please aim to arrive 10 minutes before class so we can move upstairs together and begin on time. There is typically meter parking ($3/hr) available within one block of The Kickernick Building. The Mpls Parking App will save time and allow you to manage your spot from class. Ramp B is another nearby option. If you arrive late, please call 651-336-8693.)

FAQ's
Do I need any experience to take a class?
Not at all! Our workshops are beginner-friendly and designed to be both fun and approachable. Whether you're brand new to art or a seasoned maker, you'll leave with a finished piece you're proud of—and maybe a new favorite hobby.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself and a sense of creativity! All materials are provided. If you'd like to bring a beverage or snack, feel free (venue permitting), but we'll take care of the rest.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Many participants come solo, and our classes are a welcoming space to meet new people while you create.
Can kids join the class?
Our classes are designed for adults and older teens. While we love young artists, most workshops are best suited for ages 16 and up unless otherwise specified.
What happens if I can’t make it?
All sales are final. If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to send a friend in your place or stop by during the scheduled class time to pick up your kit. At this time, we’re unable to ship kits or offer refunds for missed classes.
Can I change or cancel my ticket?
We’re not able to offer cancellations or refunds. However, your ticket is transferable—just let us know who will be attending in your place if you're unable to make it.
Is my seat reserved when I register?
Yes! Once your purchase is complete, your spot is secured. Registration closes several days prior to class so we can prep your materials in advance.
Will I get messy?
You shouldn’t—but we do recommend wearing something comfortable that you wouldn’t mind getting a little dusty just in case. Wood + glue = a little hands-on fun.
Do you offer private events or group bookings?
We're always open to custom class ideas for private groups! Reach out to us at classes@baileybuilds.com and let us know what you’re envisioning.
