Signature Cadence - May Drop

Cadence began the same way many of my signature works do… standing on the floor of the woodshop surrounded by scraps, circles, lines, and possibility.

Sometimes I begin with an idea. Sometimes I begin with a feeling. This piece was more rhythm than plan. I found myself moving shapes around instinctively, letting the lines pull tension against the circles until something emotional started forming in front of me.

That’s always the strange and beautiful part of creating this way. At first it looks like nothing more than wood scattered across the floor. But eventually the relationships between the shapes begin speaking to each other. Movement appears. Balance appears. A story begins revealing itself before I fully understand it myself.

Cadence became a reflection of momentum for me. The push and pull of building a life, a business, a body of work… while still trying to remain connected to the quieter creative voice underneath all of it.

This piece feels like motion without chaos. Energy without noise. A visual rhythm that somehow feels both grounded and alive at the same time.

These signature works are where my new collections truly begin. Not on a computer. Not from production schedules. But here… on the woodshop floor, following intuition until the work finally feels like it’s breathing on its own.
